The Cantare Singers are a four part, male and female choir based in Northampton, England. Formed more than 40 years ago, the group numbers around 35 and sings for pleasure and to give pleasure to others, raising many thousands of pounds for good causes in the process. A very friendly and talented bunch; we rehearse at St Andrews Methodist Church, Harlestone Road, Northampton on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.30, from the beginning of August to the end of May.
New members are always welcome. The ability to read music would be an advantage, but a willingness to sing is more important. Just turn up or contact us via our contact page.
Meet the Choir members
Roy is one of our leading basses and has been with the choir for 9 years. He brings a wealth of musical experience to the group. He has previously sung with Church Choirs, Barber Shops Quartets as well as the Allan Singers and Northampton Male Voice Choir. He is also a very experienced musician, playing a selection of brass instruments; cornet, tenor horn, tenor trombone and bass trombone, in jazz bands, brass bands and symphony orchestras. He was also an RAF Band Master. He says his best musical experience was playing a bass trombone solo at the Royal Albert Hall.
